35 kV XLPE Armoured Cable: Specification and Factory Procurement Guide
How to specify and buy 26/35 kV XLPE power cable to IEC 60502-2 with Cu/Al conductors and SWA/STA armour.

A 35 kV quotation is comparable only when voltage, conductor, insulation, screen, armour, sheath, testing and drum length are all fixed. Use this guide to turn a cable schedule into a factory-ready RFQ.
1. Lock the electrical specification
State 26/35 kV (Um 40.5 kV), IEC 60502-2 and the project edition. Include route, earthing, short-circuit duty, conductor material, class, cross-section, number of cores and operating temperature. Choose copper or aluminium from ampacity, voltage drop, accessories, weight and lifecycle requirements—not price alone.
2. Define the complete cable construction
Specify conductor screen, XLPE insulation, insulation screen, copper-wire or copper-tape metallic screen, bedding, SWA or STA armour, and PE, PVC or LSZH outer sheath. Burial, moisture, hydrocarbons, UV, pulling tension and corrosion exposure determine the correct construction.
3. Agree tests, drums and delivery
Before production, agree routine tests, dimensional and conductor-resistance records, partial-discharge and voltage-test requirements, inspection points and document approval. Confirm total quantity, continuous drum lengths, markings, export wooden protection, destination and FOB/CIF/DDP terms.
RFQ minimum: 26/35 kV · IEC 60502-2 · Cu/Al · mm² · cores · metallic screen · SWA/STA · sheath · route · drum length · tests · destination.
